The renowned hotel group is on the brink of expanding its global presence, with an impressive pipeline of nearly 190 properties in development. This includes the eagerly anticipated debut of 30 hotels slated to open in the coming year, spanning locations from Mexico to Portugal, and Australia to South Korea.
A comprehensive study on global luxury travel trends, conducted in collaboration with creative agency Team One, uncovered a notable shift in the mindset of today's affluent travelers. They are transitioning from a mere "box-checking" mentality to a more deliberate and contemplative "traveling well" approach when planning their journeys. Marriott International aims to align with these evolving traveler aspirations.
In 2022, The Ritz-Carlton brand will mark its presence in Arizona with The Ritz-Carlton Paradise Valley, The Palmeraie, as well as in New York City, where it will debut in the NoMad neighborhood, offering guestrooms with captivating city views. Further expanding its footprint in Australia, The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne, is set to open. Additionally, Ritz-Carlton Reserve is preparing to unveil its sixth estate in the picturesque Chinese valley of Jiuzhaigou. Several renowned Ritz-Carlton properties, including The Ritz-Carlton, Moscow, The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, and The Ritz-Carlton, Naples, are expected to reveal significant renovations in the upcoming year. Furthermore, the brand anticipates the inaugural voyage of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection in May 2022.
In the coming year, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts has its sights set on expanding in the Middle East, with the opening of The St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island, The Pearl in Qatar. The brand is also poised to debut in Chicago with a building designed by Jeanne Gang. Bespoke St. Regis service will be introduced to Belgrade. Another highlight is the opening of The St. Regis Kanai Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico, offering breathtaking ocean views from nearly every angle. Additionally, The St. Regis San Francisco is set to celebrate the completion of a comprehensive renovation, unveiling a fresh look and ambiance in 2022.
W Hotels, boasting a presence in nearly 60 global locations, is scheduled to open in the Algarve region, Sydney, Dubai, and Toronto next year. Meanwhile, EDITION Hotels has ambitious plans for 2022, with six new properties in the pipeline, including Madrid, Rome, Doha, Tampa, Riviera Maya in Kanai, and Ginza (the second property in Tokyo). With 14 hotels worldwide at present, the brand is on track to reach a global footprint of 20 properties by the close of 2022.
In the same year, The Luxury Collection is gearing up to unveil properties in various destinations worldwide, encompassing Spain, India, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Tbilisi (Georgia). The JW Marriott brand has new openings on its radar in diverse locations, spanning from Cairo to Istanbul and Mexico to Jeju Island, South Korea. Recent property launches in Charlotte, Monterrey, Shanghai, and Tampa have further solidified the brand's global presence.
