Emirates Magazine: Better World Fund Illuminating Presence at Venice Film Festival

Venice, September 11th, 2023 - The 80th Venice Film Festival, known as La Mostra, was graced by the luminous presence of the Better World Fund (BWF) on the 7th and 8th of September, 2023. Over 300 attendees gathered at the Ca' Sagredo Hotel and La Scuola Grande Della Misericordia di Venezia, including prominent figures such as Isabelle Huppert, Jeremy Piven, Euzhan Palcy, Tom Volf, Keira Chaplin, Nadia Farès, Elisabeth Moreno, Joyce El-Khoury, among others. Their shared mission: to champion "Women Empowerment" through the evocative medium of Cinematic Art, with the ultimate goal of serving humanity.

Established in 2016, the Better World Fund, a non-profit organization based in Paris, has consistently organized prestigious international events and ignited cultural initiatives through actionable endeavors. This year, once again, the resplendent settings of the Ca' Sagredo Hotel and the Misericordia di Venezia provided a backdrop for influential individuals from diverse corners of the world. They converged with a shared commitment to positively shape the future of our society.

Manuel Collas de la Roche, President and Founder of Better World Fund, articulated the vision, stating, "In the enchanting realm of La Mostra, BWF's Venice edition serves as a tribute to women and a platform to heighten awareness of their indispensable role in the film industry. We firmly believe that cinema holds a significant place as a conduit for social, educational, and environmental values. Hence, it is crucial to sustain and encourage women's participation in all facets of the film industry to create a more just and inclusive society.
