Celebrating Young Cinema: The Jury Unveils Talent at the European Short Film Festival

The European Short Film Festival in Nice is preparing to captivate cinema enthusiasts with a rich and diverse competition, where a professional jury, a student jury, and a public jury will come together to celebrate the excellence of young cinematic creation.

Professional Jury: A Team of Passionate Experts

The professional jury consists of prominent members of the film industry, including Paul Rigoux, who brings an insightful perspective on production and direction. He is joined by Apostolos Kara, a director and editor whose experience will provide valuable insight when evaluating the presented works. Together, they will be tasked with selecting the year-end films that captivate audiences with their originality and creativity.

Vanessa Banonbordes, an acclaimed independent producer, rounds out this jury. A finalist for the production grant from Onto Acts Productions in 2004, she has had her films recognized in numerous festivals. In addition to her role as a producer, Vanessa teaches screenwriting at the FEMIS and actively participates in the Rewrite and Development Aid Commission. Her involvement in the writing residency RECIFS in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region demonstrates her commitment to supporting young talents in crafting their first feature films.

Student Jury: A Young and Dynamic Voice

The voice of students will also be heard through the student jury, composed of five students selected after a short film critique competition. These young cinephiles will have the opportunity to award the Student Jury Prize, a symbol of creativity and innovative vision from the new generation of filmmakers.

Public Jury: The Voice of the Audience

The public jury invites all attendees to participate actively in the competition. At the end of each screening, the audience is called to vote for their favorite films. The most popular film will receive the Public Prize of the City of Nice, a valuable recognition highlighting the importance of audience engagement in the festival.
